Professor John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University in the United States recently released the 2022 World's Top 2% Scientists List, which selects the top 2% of the world's scientists from nearly 2021 million scientists, ranking in 1000 fields and 2 sub-disciplines, including a total of about 22,176 famous scientists from various fields. The list is divided into two lists: "Lifetime Science Impact Ranking" (20~1960) and "2022 Scientific Impact Ranking".

This year's list data was updated to the end of 2021 and is calculated using all Scopus authors as of September 2022, 9, divided into 1 domains and 22 sub-domains, scored based on six key indicators: total citations, Hirsch h-index, co-author revised Schreiber Hm-index, single author, single or first author, and single, first or last author citations.
