What is OCT
Optical coherence tomography (OCT: optical coherence tomography) is a non-invasive optical imaging technique that provides real-time 1D depth, 2D sectional or 3D stereoscopic images with resolution on the order of microns (~um) and imaging depths in the millimeter order (~mm). OCT imaging technology fills the gap between confocal microscopy and ultrasound techniques. OCT is based on the principle of optical coherence, with near-infrared light as the light source and Michelson interferometer as the core optical structure, generating optical interference signals to achieve imaging.

Classification of OCT: According to its implementation method, OCT systems can be divided into time domain OCT (TD-OCT) and Fourier (frequency domain) OCT (FD-OCT). The frequency domain OCT can be divided into spectral domain OCT (SD-OCT) and frequency sweep source OCT (SS-OCT) according to the different light sources and detection schemes used.

The most representative product in Topcon's series of ophthalmic OCT is 3D OCT, which enables doctors to see more details in the eye, which is conducive to the comprehensive diagnosis of fundus disease and ensures the reliability of the examination. The investment research team of Xinhenglida believes that although China's ophthalmic OCT equipment has made great technological breakthroughs after years of development, the overall technical level of China's ophthalmic OCT equipment industry still has a certain gap compared with foreign countries. China's ophthalmic OCT enterprises have done well in software algorithm research, and the main gap with imported products is reflected in the core hardware. In the future, domestic substitution needs to change the operation and sales system, and there is a long way to go to strengthen the construction of word of mouth.
